Abstract

enOral production is one of the four core skills in teaching and learning French as a Foreign Language (FFL). However, developing this skill remains challenging due to its complex and multidimensional nature, especially in terms of teaching, learning and assessment. This study adopts an action-oriented approach and uses video as a tool to support oral production. It explores how a teacher can effectively help learners improve their oral production skills through the existing teaching program Itinéraires, in which ten Vietnamese students were asked to create a review video as an oral production task. This research has two main objectives. First, it aims to analyze the progression of learners' oral skills throughout the program. Second, it seeks to explain this progression by examining the learning processes involved. In particular, the research focuses on learners' practices and perceptions, while also identifying aspects of the learning environment that may encourage the improvement of oral production skills.
