Nous verrons que face à ce dénouement manquant, de nombreux érudits et philologues, issus d'époques et de pays variés, se sont mis au défi d'apporter leur propre fin à la pièce en imitant Plaute, pour les besoins de la scène notamment. Des trois suppléments que nous étudierons, l'un est le fruit du philologue et théologien de la Réforme Johann Philipp Pareus, un autre est attribué au fameux philologue italien du quattrocento Ermolao Barbaro, tandis que le dernier texte demeure anonyme. Notre approche sera la suivante : après avoir renseigné le lecteur sur la vie de chaque auteur et le contexte de création de son supplément, nous présenterons le texte latin accompagné d'une traduction personnelle ainsi qu'un commentaire philologique faisant état du vocabulaire, de la syntaxe, du style et des ressources comiques mises en œuvre. Enfin nous conclurons en comparant les suppléments entre eux. Il va sans dire que cette entreprise sera également l'occasion de découvrir l’œuvre de Plaute elle-même et ses richesses, puisque les suppléments ne peuvent s'apprécier pleinement qu'à la lumière des références et autres emprunts opérés par nos continuateurs à l’œuvre du Sarsinate. This paper aims at the edition, the translation and the philological commentary of three supplements to Plautus' Aulularia, an incomplete play since the major part of its fifth and ultimate act did not survive the passage of time. We shall see that confronted to this missing ending, numerous scholars and philologists, from multiple periods of time and multiple countries, challenged themselves to bring their own ending to the play by imitating Plautus, in particular for the needs of the stage. Of the three supplements that we shall study, one is the product of philologist and Reform theologian Johann Philipp Pareus, another is attributed to the Quattrocento famous Italian philologist Ermolao Barbaro, while the last one remains anonymous. Our approach shall be as follows : after informing the reader on the life of each author and the context of his supplement's creation, we shall present the latin text accompanied by a personal translation as well as a philological commentary showing the vocabulary, the syntax, the style and the comical ressources. Finally we shall conclude by comparing the supplement between them. It goes without saying that this enterprise shall be an opportunity to discover Plautus's œuvre itself and its riches, since the supplements can only be fully enjoyed through the references and borrowings operated by our continuators to the œuvre of the Sarsinate.PlautusAulalariaBarbaroPareusL.
