The representation of the protagonist is not stereotypical, and the movie ends on a happy note. It begs the questions: is every movie about LGBTQ+ members realistic and genuine? How did it evolve throughout the years? Those questions led me to the subject of the introduction: the evolution of the representation of the LGBTQ+ community on screen. It concerns the first movies portraying homosexual people, the ones that marked a turning point for the community, inclusive TV shows and children’s television series.
