These patients often receive alternative antibiotics with a broader spectrum, leading to diverse consequences. However, it is possible to safely readminister these antibiotics to 80-90% of these patients without adverse consequences. The interhospital infection prevention and control and antimicrobial stewardship team from the 6 sites of the “Réseau Hospitalier Namurois (RHN)” has chosen AβL as their 2024 project. Objectives: To develop and validate tools concerning AβL at RHN level and implement them in CHU UCL Namur. Secondary objectives included enhancing patient awareness about their AβL and quantifying and improving the information recorded in patient records about AβL. Methods : Two axes were established: 1) ‘anamnesis tool for healthcare professionals’ and 2) ‘patient information sheet’. A methodology similar to the RAND/UCLA method was used to develop tools. In parallel, an audit was conducted to assess the completeness of AβL documentation within patient records during anesthetic consultations. Results : An anamnesis questionnaire was developed and validated by 22 RHN experts (allergists, anesthetists, infectious diseases specialists and pharmacists). It was integrated into the electronic medical record system of CHU UCL Namur. Our audit showed that AβL was documented for 10% of the patients within our cohort (n=1234). In 25% of anesthetic consultations records, the only information documented was “penicillin allergy”. In collaboration with healthcare professionals and patients, an information leaflet on AβL was created. It will be disseminated through waiting rooms, website and among RHN healthcare professionals. Conclusion : This quality improvement study led to the development and implementation of tools on AβL for the RHN. A post-implementation audit assessing their impact will be conducted shortly. The lack of documented information about AβL in records shows the need to continue raising awareness among healthcare professionals and patients for better care in our hospital network.bêta-lactameallergieanamnèseinformation patientréseau hospitalier namuroisbetallergpénicillineBETALLERG: Allergies aux bêta-lactames, tout un programme.
