The research traces the development of photographic thought from the period preceding the advent of digital technology to the present day, exploring the ways in which advancements in digital media have altered traditional perceptions of photography. In his early works, Fontcuberta challenges the modernist assumption that photography represents an accurate reflection of reality and an index. As digital technology advanced, he introduced the concept of "post-photography" to address the transition from analogue to digital media. This thesis examines how Fontcuberta's ideas address the challenges to indexicality posed by digital technology and their implications for visual communication. The study aims to provide a detailed and nuanced understanding of how digital developments have influenced the theoretical discourse on photography and its role in contemporary visual culture.PostphotographyFontcuberta JoanDigital PhotographyIndexicalityPost photography: Joan Fontcuberta and the Shift from Analog to Digital Photographytext::thesis::master thesisthesis:48146
