- Abstract
- This master's thesis explores how Goldman Sachs employed impression management strategies to maintain or restore its organizational legitimacy in the aftermath of the financial crisis. Focusing on the period between 2008 and 2011, marked by intense public scrutiny, regulatory investigations, and legal accusations, the study investigates the firm's strategic communication choices and symbolic actions in response to reputational threats. Building on a structured theoretical framework and a detailed case study analysis, the findings highlight how Goldman Sachs navigated the fine line between defending its practices and reshaping its public image.
