Abstract
The aim of this research is to explore the theoretical foundations and historical evolution of the Lean startup movement and to understand how it is used in the Belgian Tech industry as well as the ensuing outcomes. To do so, a literature review was conducted followed by a field study with five companies active in the focus sector. The analysis of the results obtained through semi-structured interviews allowed conclusions to be drawn regarding the adoption, use, outcomes and benefits/drawbacks of the Lean Startup. These findings were then used to formulate recommendations to organizations wishing to use the Lean Startup, so as to increase the reach and contribution of this research paper.
