- Abstract
- This thesis presents a partial French translation of the work Ghibli, The Complete Works. The introduction analyzes the representation of women in the films of Studio Ghibli, comparing it to their role within the studio, after providing contextual background on the evolution of female representation in Japanese animation. This section highlights the impact of female directors and characters on the studio's image, while examining the social and cultural issues related to these representations. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to a translation commentary, where the translation choices made are explained. These choices, based on translation theories and specialized sources, focus on the adaptation of specific terms and concepts, aiming to preserve the fidelity to the original work while respecting the cultural and linguistic particularities of French.
