- Breast cancer is a major public health concern. It has several subtypes, including invasive lobular breast cancer (ILC), representing 10 to 15 % of the cases. ILC is distinguished by linear cell growth and loss of expression of E-cadherin, making diagnosis difficult with conventional imaging methods, and even with [18F]-FDG positron emission tomography , because of its low avidity for this radiotracer. The master thesis aimed to analyse the interest of new radiotracers and their potential to overcome existing diagnostic limitations in ILC, as well as their contribution to precise medicine. The literature review highlighted the potential of [18F]-FES, which targets oestrogen receptors, and of [68Ga]-FAPI, targeting the microenvironment. Others are also promising, such as tracers targeting HER2 receptors or amino acid transporters. In conclusion, these new radiotracers open a door beyond diagnostic imaging, by advancing the era of theranostics which is essential for enabling personalized treatment. The hospital radiopharmacist plays a key role in managing the supply chain for these innovations, from preparation to dispensing, ensuring safety throughout the entire process. Significant challenges remain in optimizing both the quality of radiotracers and ensuring their access for all patients.
