- Abstract
This thesis contains the partial and commented translation of the 44th edition of the Beche-de-mer Information bulletin, a scientific publication of the Pacific Community (SPC), entirely dedicated to sea cucumbers. Its primary objective is to highlight the ecological and socio-economic stakes surrounding these marine animals. The first part, the introduction, describes the current context of overfishing and attempts to explain the increasing demand of sea cucumbers. It then examines the consequences of these tendencies and explores potential solutions to these problems, like holothurian aquaculture. The second part focuses on the partial translation of the bulletin, followed by commentaries describing the difficulties faced during translation, the processes used and the justification of terminological, stylistic and typographic choices.
