- Abstract
- This case study explores the therapeutic process in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), with a specific focus on the Sexual Orientation OCD (SO-OCD) subtype. Holistic and functional models were collaboratively developed to guide a treatment plan targeting cognitive and behavioral processes contributing to symptom maintenance. Therapy goals—reducing OCD symptoms, enhancing quality of life, and exploring sexual identity—were evaluated through various subjective and objective measures to track progress throughout the treatment trajectory. Interventions in the treatment plan included psychoeducation, cognitive restructuring, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
