- Abstract
- I investigate the common-mode noise observed in the silicon modules that will be installed in the outer tracker endcap of CMS. The two module technologies: the Strip-Strip (2S) modules and the Pixel-Strip (PS) modules are studied under two test setups (burn-in test, with a module operated alone, and sector test, with several modules integrated together on a dee and sharing services). One of the main objective was to build statistical toy models capable of reproducing the resulting occupancy distributions at the 50% and 3σ working points for the two kinds of modules under both test setups. A second objective was to compare my results of common-mode noise between both setups to check whether the modules integrated on the dee performed as well as they did during burn-in tests.
