Abstract
The social questioning and reconsideration of the feminine from the end of the twentieth century to the present day have made it all the more important than before to thoroughly investigate the representations, images and figurations of the feminine in the public and social sphere. If society is becoming increasingly more conscious of these matters, it is only right to put comic book work under the same spotlight. As a mass medium, comics are an important tool for portraying the power relations between the different actors in society. Particularly in terms of the relationship between the masculine and the feminine, the comic field can provide a new approach, simultaneous with the changes and evolutions in the present reality. Therefore, the aim of this thesis is to explore, investigate, question and analyse the way in which representations, figurations and images of the feminine are processed and associated with notions that are characterised by a relative persistence. This study will be the occasion for challenging and uncovering the possibility of emancipating and adapting these persistence in order to reshape them into a more modern, subjective, unrestricted feminine that resonates with a chosen and embraced identity.
