Abstract

enThis thesis proposes an analysis of various dimensions in Fernanda Trías’s Mugre rosa (2021): temporalities, toxicity in spaces, the possible presence of ecofeminism, an ethics of care and an attempt of regeneration, as well as social structures in the public and private spheres. It will also explore the novel’s role as a statement to the Anthropocene. The objectives are as follows: first, to demonstrate that, due to the presence of these dimensions, the novel belongs to the post-apocalyptic genre. Second, to show that these dimensions bear witness to the catastrophe; and third, to show that the novel constitutes a critique of our society. To achieve these objectives, the methodology used is as follows: first, to analyze excerpts from Mugre rosa in light of each hypothesis; then, to support these analyses with various articles and references; and finally, to draw conclusions from each hypothesis using all these elements.
