Abstract
At the dawn of the fourth industrial revolution, artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a structural force reshaping human resource management (HRM). This dissertation examines how AI can be integrated into HRM in a way that is effective, responsible, and respectful of the human dimension. Based exclusively on an academic literature review drawing on works in management, HRM, and AI ethics, this study proceeds in four stages. The first chapter establishes the conceptual and theoretical framework linking AI and HRM. The second examines the main algorithmic applications within the HR function, their benefits, and their limitations. The third analyses the ethical challenges raised by this integration, including algorithmic bias, system opacity, and the risk of dehumanisation. The fourth proposes the conditions for a balanced coexistence between artificial and human intelligence within organisations. The analysis shows that AI profoundly redefines the HR function by repositioning it towards higher value-added missions, while simultaneously requiring rigorous ethical governance grounded in transparency, human oversight, and respect for employees' fundamental rights.
