Abstract
This paper analyses the impact of corruption and organised crime on unit costs of road-infrastructure works in Italy. I build on and expand an original database by ANAS, the main national public agency in charge of the road network, about projects in 19 out of 20 Italy's regions and focus on estimating a function to identify the main costs' drivers.
