Abstract
In the world of online learning, why do some learners engage with passion while others gradually drift away from their screens? By diving deep into the Moodle platform, this research goes beyond surface appearances to explore the underlying drivers of motivation. Virtual badges, leaderboards, interactive H5P modules, and discussion forums: every element is designed to turn bibliographic management into a stimulating experience. Yet, practical reality holds its fair share of surprises. By triangulating learning analytics, user experience measurements (UEQ+, UES-SF), and detailed interview narratives, this thesis unveils a fascinating paradox. Why do individual recognition mechanisms trigger action, while official collaborative spaces remain underutilized? Where do students' authentic social dynamics actually thrive? At the intersection of motivational psychology, social comparison theory, and learning design, this thesis decodes the forces that captivate the human mind in virtual environments and delivers essential key insights for redesigning tomorrow's digital spaces.
