Abstract
enFor over 70 years, the Kingdom of Morocco has been claiming its historical right over the Western Sahara. In 2007, in order to end the conflict that opposes the country to the Polisario Front, Morocco has suggested in front of the General Assembly of the United Nations a “Moroccan initiative to negotiate an autonomy status for the Sahara area”. The Cherifian Kingdom, which holds its territorial integrity as a national priority, asked for its partners to show a clear position taking. Since then, a wave of support has been shown for the autonomy plan. The aim of this thesis, through a constructivist approach, is to analyze the way in which the Kingdom of Morocco structures its diplomacy policies around the autonomy plan in order to bring the conflict to an end.
