- Abstract
- Foreign direct investments made in Latin America by European transnational companies have assumed a prominent role during the last three decades. The evaluation of the main FDI components, as well as the key actors involved, represent an important part of this work. This substantial increase is markedly striking in the case of Spain whose degree of penetration in the region is higher than those of other EU countries. The core of the thesis looks at the distinctive determinants driving Spain to be the largest European source of investment vis-à-vis other EU member states.
