- Abstract
- Since the 20th century, French song has exploded and competed with other cultural practices that we know. Still poorly considered in the literary panorama of our time, it nevertheless occupies a legitimate place in the literary world from which it originates. The proximity or even the continuity between poetry and French song is gradually beginning to interest literary scholars, but few are still those who directly question what these contemporary texts have to teach us. This thesis will attempt to expand the limits of literature by posing the hypothesis of a romantic revival in the singer-songwriter Damien Saez. This 21st century artist lays the foundations for the survival of romanticism in French song and the textual analyzes will allow us to understand how these literary patterns are perpetuated. Also, we propose a new study on this corpus but we hope to open many new perspectives on other corpus to come. If we are convinced that a form of heritage of romanticism is found in contemporary French song, we affirm with this thesis that Damien Saez poses as the representative of this theory which is only waiting to be expanded.
