Abstract
PET/CT scanner is a relatively new technology. So there is still a lot to be done. One of these is the analysis of pediatric data for machine optimization, via the implementation of Diagnostic Reference Levels, for example. A retrospective study from 2014 to 2020 was therefore carried out at Saint-Luc with the aim of analyzing the dose values given to children during this examination. Three machines were analyzed, namely the Philips GEMINI TF TOF 16 and 64T, and the Philips Vereos PET/CT. Both whole-body and brain scans were analyzed. Most of the administered activity values were above the recommendations for brain scans. Some peculiarities were found for Volume Computed Tomography Dose Index (CTDIvol) and administered activity values for both whole-body and brain examinations. This study will enable us to optimize and perhaps reduce doses in the future.
