- In this work, we seek to provide a precise answer to the following question: what place is given to the history of literary movements in teaching, and how can it be approached in relation with an artistic perspective in upper secondary school? Our first aim is to trace literary history, highlighting its issues and various aspects. Then, we propose a didactic reflection by presenting the key principles of teaching literary history. Finally, in order to promote the study of the arts and literature at school, we suggest some concrete teaching approaches. The purpose of this master’s thesis is to encourage teachers to further incorporate art and literature into their teaching, with the aim of enriching students' educational experience and promote their personal and intellectual development.
