- Abstract
- Menstrual leave, which allows women to take time off work during painful periods, is the subject of much debate. This thesis looks at how workers perceive menstrual leave. The results show that it is perceived as a relevant tool for improving women's well-being at work. However, certain fears linked to the introduction of this system can be identified: reinforcement of discrimination in hiring, increase in gender inequalities, intensification of gender stereotypes. Respondents insist on the importance of raising employees' awareness, defining the frame of application of this leave, linking it to a medical diagnosis and limiting its duration. This work has opened the discussion on how to take menstrual realities into account in the workplace, on the introduction of inclusive systems and on the presence of gendered norms still present in the professional sphere.
