- Abstract
- Originally designed to manage diverse types of remote connections, Devolutions is an entity from the province of Quebec, Canada, that has seen significant growth since its foundation in 2010. This expansion was formally recognized when Deloitte awarded Devolutions a spot on its prestigious Technology Fast 500TM list in 2019, celebrating the fastest-growing technology, media, and telecommunications companies across North America. This acknowledgment not only highlights Devolutions’ rapid revenue increase, estimated at 175% from 2015 to 2018, but also its entrepreneurial vigor and innovative contributions to the IT sector. (Deloitte, 2019) Devolutions specializes in the development of affordable and powerful IT solutions tailored for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The company’s offerings are designed to address critical operational needs, including privileged access management, password management, and remote connection management, thereby enhancing companies’ security, operational efficiencies, and compliance capabilities. This focus on delivering high-quality, customized solutions for traditionally underserved SMEs has set Devolutions apart as a leader in its field, underlining the company's mission to empower businesses with the tools they need for success in a digital landscape. (Léveillé, 2022) By providing these solutions on a subscription basis, Devolutions firmly positions itself within the Software as a Service (SaaS) model, reflecting a broader industry trend towards cloud-based services that offer scalability, flexibility, and enhanced security. This shift has prompted new structural requirements distinct from those associated with traditional on- premises software deployments, leading to the emergence of Revenue Operations (RevOps) practices aimed at optimizing operational efficiency and aligning inter-departmental objectives. As Devolutions continues to grow and expand its user base, now spanning over 800,000 users in more than 140 countries, its story reflects the dynamic nature of the tech industry and the pivotal role of SaaS companies in driving digital transformation.
