Abstract
In a context marked by ongoing political tension and fragmentation, Jerusalem is crossed by a series of barriers that continue to dismantle its urban fabric. Among these, the wall stands as the most violent form of division. It cuts through neighborhoods, disconnects people from their surroundings, and affects daily lives. Instead of responding with a conventional architectural solution, which often feels powerless in the face of such complexity, this project turns to a speculative approach. It does not aim to solve, but to question. By rethinking the wall and what it does to the land and the people, the project explores how its role could be shifted. The idea is to imagine how this same wall could begin to reconnect the fragmented urban islands it helped isolate, and to ask whether a barrier can ever be reversed in its meaning and use.
