Abstract
The main focus of this paper is on the stereotypical and intercultural perceptions between Hong Kong inhabitants and mainlanders from both perspectives. The purpose of this study is to understand how the residents of Hong Kong perceive the Chinese from China, how these perceptions may vary according to their demographic background, and to investigate how and why the Chinese people are stereotyped.
