Abstract
This thesis is devoted to an analysis of the Multi-Party Interim Appeal Arbitration Arrangement (MPIA). The arrangement was established in April 2020 in response to the paralysis of the WTO Appellate Body. The research question of this paper is: To what extent can the MPIA replace the Appellate Body, and under what conditions does it function as a path toward reform rather than as a permanent parallel regime?
