Abstract
This thesis investigates the relationship between CEO personality traits and corporate ESG communication, with a specific focus on whether CEO extraversion is associated with corporate greenwashing. It builds on Upper Echelons Theory to examine how executive psychological characteristics may influence sustainability-related disclosure strategies. The analysis explores how this relationship may vary depending on managerial context, particularly CEO career stage, and considers the role of corporate governance mechanisms in shaping ESG disclosure quality. The study contributes to the broader literature on ESG behavior, executive characteristics, and corporate transparency.
