Abstract
Alternative economic models have been studied for several years, particularly in the context of sustainability issues. Among them, the mutualised model is attracting growing interest for its ability to combine economic performance, social cohesion and environmental sobriety. However, few studies have looked at the concrete evaluation of these impacts in a real urban setting. That's why this research proposes a triple-impact analysis of the shared model applied to MicroFactory, a shared manufacturing space in Brussels. The main objective was to assess how this model influences the economic, social and environmental trajectories of its members. A survey of 34 users was carried out, combining quantitative indicators (income, cost reduction, recycling practices) and qualitative indicators (sense of belonging, solidarity, changes in practices). The results show that the MicroFactory model encourages an increase in turnover and strong community involvement, but that its ecological impact is still only partially developed. In other words, the pooling of resources creates positive externalities, but requires proactive governance to fully achieve its sustainability objectives.
