Abstract
This thesis aims to explore the synergistic impacts of China’s dual-credit policy and government subsidies on the sustainable development of the new energy vehicle (NEV) industry. Based on the panel data of 29 provincial-level administrative regions in China from 2010 to 2023, we empirically examine the direct impact of the “dual-credit” policy on green technological innovation and carbon emission reduction, then further explore the moderating role of government subsidies. The results show that the “dual-credit” policy, as a market-based tool, significantly increases the output of new energy vehicle patents (by 64.6%) and effectively reduces carbon emissions (by 13.4%). However, government subsidies fail to play a significant role in policy coordination, and even inhibit technological innovation. This study not only enriches the theoretical research on policy synergy and sustainable development, but also provides a reference for the optimization of global new energy vehicle industry policies and the green transformation of developing countries.
