- Abstract
- With the upcoming of energy sources that require more surface area, the land use associated to power lines is a key component for its upcoming development. In that sense, the thesis will focus on the high voltage power lines managed by the Belgian Transmission System Operator (TSO) : Elia. The threshold kept for high voltage power lines in this study was 30 kV. The interest is to study the spatial heteorgeneity inside Belgium administrative units as well as which land uses classes are more associated to power lines. The dataset used is from OSM which cause variation from Elia's electrical grid. The thesis analyse the land use under high voltage power lines and use a ratio to determine which land use is relatively more present under it. The analysis will also distinguish overhead power lines from underground power lines.
