Abstract
In this thesis, two methods of characterization of mechanical properties are studied: nanoindentation and AFM. These techniques measure force-displacement curves on the surface of materials. Different analytical models used to analyze the data obtained via these two equipments are presented. This thesis emphasizes the interest of combining these two techniques in order to fully characterize the Young's modulus profile of soft materials such as polymers. The variation of the Young's modulus of these materials as a function of the experimental parameters has also been realized and explained.
