- Abstract
- Artificial intelligence is increasingly presented as a major opportunity for corporate finance. Yet, between the general enthusiasm surrounding the technology and its concrete application within a finance department, a gap remains. This thesis addresses that gap through a case study conducted in the finance department of a company in the telecommunications sector. Based on a thematic analysis of thirty semi-structured interviews, the study identifies concrete AI use cases with the potential to enhance work efficiency by reducing the time spent on manual, repetitive and time-consuming tasks. For each use case, an implementation approach is proposed, building on the systems and tools already in place within the company. The use cases are then prioritised through an impact-feasibility matrix, the feasibility dimension being assessed with the support of IT and Data specialists. Beyond this prioritisation, the thesis discusses key technical and organisational considerations for the success of an AI implementation, including data quality, change management and the role of the corporate culture. In summary, rather than a comprehensive roadmap, the thesis offers the company a structured starting point for the deployment of AI in its finance department.
