Abstract
Thales Alenia Space is currently the world’s largest manufacturer of satellites. On the Charleroi site in Belgium, the company produces mainly electronical modules that control the distribution and the storage of electrical power, for example. The raise of the constellations has come, and it is reshaping the industry. The processes of the long-established businesses are being challenged. Thales Alenia Space must improve these processes to maintain its competitive advantages. This Thesis has three objectives. First, it will present a methodology to continuously improve the quality of the supply chain. Second, it will follow the methodology to compute delays, determine the root causes, and analyze the most problematic one. Third, it will suggest a theoretical solution to the selected risk. In practice, this paper aims to improve the “Electrical Power Conditioner” production line. This line is subject to delays and domino effects. It will be measured and analyzed with risk management tools. The solution suggested is the use of a risk register in the planning phase.
