Abstract

This thesis examines the frames developed in two pan-European media, namely the POLITICO Europe and Euractiv with respect to the Greek debt crisis. Furthermore, it examines the period from 2009 to 2020 and has drawn on the frames developed in several national media regarding the topic of the Greek crisis, the wide literature of the frame theory, and the impact of pan-European media to the European public sphere. Therefore, this study, has employed a qualitative frame analysis, with the aim to study the evolution of the frames regarding the Greek crisis in the pan-European media, to compare possible similarites and differences with the frames of this topic presented in national media, and to examine possible new frames.
