Abstract
enIn this paper, I tried to describe the importance of the mobile archivists for the conservation of the French and French speaking Belgian communal archives. To do that, I compared the situation in France, and the differences that exist between different regions in it and the one that happened after the launch of the project Archives Locales de Wallonie by les Archives de L’Etat. I compared the legislations and the role they play on the conservation and the gestion of the archives. I also tried to compare the status and the practices of the mobile archivists from France and Wallonia to see the consequences it has on the longevity of the communal archives. Inside this paper, I studied the usefulness of the mobile archivists in France and in Belgium. I also explore the advantages and disadvantages of using mobile archivists for the conservation of communal archives.
