- This dissertation focusses on the development of controlled pathosystems to generate reproducible evidence on biofungicides and bio-based adjuvants against oomycetes. Two complementary models were developed: Plasmopara viticola–Vitis vinifera and Pythium spp.–maize. The grapevine model achieved reliable colonization but erratic sporulation and recurrent contamination, revealing strong dependence on leaf microclimate and inoculum standardization. tighter environmental control and imaging-based metrics are needed. The Pythium platform was quantitatively robust, yielding clear dose–response results suitable for further testing.
