Abstract
In a world where organizations face constant digital evolution and where knowledge has become an important strategic lever, it is important to study the impact that artificial intelligence can have on its management, as well as the way it reshapes the associated tasks. This study aims to explore the concrete effects of integrating this new technology into knowledge management with 12 members of the teaching and research staff at the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium, using a qualitative approach. The results showed a positive impact of the use of AI tools in the knowledge acquisition and transfer phases. The impact on the application is positive for the participants, but negative for the students they teach. As far as creation is concerned, no noticeable effect is observed, as this phase is still perceived as essentially human. Most tasks automated or optimized by AI are secondary and remain under the control of the people interviewed, who choose to delegate them to AI for reasons of efficiency. These changes in the use of technology are leading to the emergence of new skills. As a result, the human role in knowledge management is gradually shifting towards a more analytical, decision-making and creative posture.
