Abstract
The current migrant crisis or refugee crisis is characterized by a major presence of refugees, mainly from countries experiencing intense conflicts imposing struggle to measure, among other variables, the economic impacts of hosting refugees. This paper is inspired by the literature related to the economic impacts of refugees and attemps to provide an objective understanding of the economical impact of refugees on host countries and their major destinations (Europe, U.S. and Africa). A series of migration policies are also analyzed to sketch possible solutions and future research. The aim is to clarify the situation in which refugees and their host countries find themselves today, as well as to represent various economic impacts that these waves of migration could have.
