Abstract
Sustainable investments are growing and the need to go beyond climate concerns is increasingly felt. We now have the means to combine sustainability and profitability and it might be worth focusing on long-term trends in the green market. Sustainable investments are playing an increasing role in achieving the sustainable development goals of the United Nations by helping not only to promote sustainable projects and enterprises but also to raise awareness of sustainable development issues in the business world. The topic we wish to highlight in this paper is green investments and its good practices in environmental, social, and governance matters in Belgium (and more particularly in the Walloon region). An interesting question that this work aims to define is whether sustainability can be profitable and, if so, at what price?
