- Abstract
- The importance of artificial intelligence (AI) has been increasing over the past few years, and its implementation in companies has become a competitive race to gain a strategic advantage. The objective of this study is to evaluate the implementation of AI within the HR processes of companies, with a particular focus on large consultancy firms, which typically experience high staff turnover. The study assesses the impact of these implementations on the firms' processes. This exploratory study aims to identify the current state of AI implementation in companies and to discuss the best practices for an efficient integration. The present study adopts a qualitative approach. The present literature review is composed of secondary sources, gathering data from scientific papers, and confronting it with semi-structured interviews. The literature review is confronted with the insights from the interviews. This exploratory research is then discussing or refuting their hypotheses and research question, and provide a theoretical framework for the efficient implementation of AI within HR processes. This framework is based on best practices and the challenges that had been identified. It is concluded that AI in HR is still in an early stage, and its benefits are mostly seen as gaining time and providing an external point of view for HR professionals. The development of AI in HR appears to be more advanced in the recruitment sector. In order to ensure that decisions are made in an informed manner and that human oversight is maintained when AI tools are in use, it is imperative that companies invest in AI literacy. Furthermore, in order to guarantee the privacy of their employees, companies must invest in data security, and in order to ensure the neutrality of AI, companies must invest in data auditing.
