Abstract
enThis academic work examines the extent to which AI-generated historical videos on French-language YouTube are able to generate viable revenue and which factors determine the level of that revenue. Based on a corpus of 473 videos from ten channels analyzed using descriptive statistics, Spearman’s correlation, and multiple regression, the results show that no channel reaches the viability threshold set at 21,467 views per day. The volume of content published, the formal characteristics of the videos, and their perceived artificial nature do not appear to be determining factors in their performance. Only the channel’s identity, and thus its accumulated reputation, emerges as an explanatory factor. Thereby replicating the inequalities observed at the platform level in this specific segment as well.
