Abstract
This dissertation is based on an analysis of Instagram publications from the British Red Cross and Vinted’s accounts in the quest for slow fashion. The fashion industry is known to damage the environment, and as a result, consumers tend to buy secondhand. Therefore, organizations must adopt green initiatives and communicate about them sustainably, given the increase in customers' ethical consumption choices. The aim of this thesis is to investigate to what extent both organizations have adopted sustainability communication in their online Instagram corporate accounts through digital marketing tools. In the 21st century, there is a pursuit of implementing a fair business model, namely a socio-economic model in which social and economic matters can co-exist. At the same time, consumer engagement in the 21st century, under the impetus of the Youth for Climate movement, increasingly relies on the adoption of Insta-worthy norms while spreading environment-aware messages. A comparison of the British Red Cross and Vinted on Instagram could give insights into the proportion to which they followed the path to the implementation of sustainability communication in a digital consumption society.
