Abstract
This study examines the conditions under which diversification can sustainably strengthen the performance and resilience of a paramedical centre without compromising quality of care or strategic coherence. An exploratory case study of PhysioMed Center in Jemappes was conducted using internal data and a multi-criteria framework based on diversification strategy, the resource-based view, business models and organisational resilience. The analysis compares aquatic physiotherapy, group activities, LPG treatments, consulting-room rental, the development of home-based care and a proposed facility extension. The findings indicate that diversification is most relevant when it remains closely related to the core activity, makes effective use of available capacities and does not generate disproportionate managerial complexity. A gradual development path is therefore recommended for PhysioMed: consolidate and measure existing activities, test related and reversible projects, and make major structural investments conditional upon observable results.
